SIG announces ecowarehouse

ecowarehouseSIG Roofline and Building Products has announced the opening of a rollout for ‘ecowarehouse’, a new initiative that will see dedicated areas for sustainable products and technologies within the company’s existing nationwide branch network.

A member of SIG plc, SIG Roofline and Building Products is the UK’s leading specialist materials supplier to home improvers, window fitters, builders, window companies and related trade customers.

ecowarehouse is an exciting new concept aimed at bringing customers all the latest developments in environmentally friendly products and technologies, coupled with impartial, sound advice. Branch personnel have products and technical knowledge to help customers buy the right products to help reduce reliance on fossil fuels and thus reduce home and business owners’ carbon footprint.

One of the branches that has already had the ‘ecowarehouse treatment’ is Toogood Plastics on the Rookley Industrial Estate on the Isle of Wight.

Comments Branch Manager Kevin Lapworth;

“We are all very well aware of the impact that human activity is having on the planet and many people would like to make a contribution in reducing carbon emissions and reduce the costs of energy. The ecowarehouse initiative is one where individual homeowners, builders and businesses can source help and advice on cost-effective, practical solutions that will help”

“From simple ideas such as more efficient insulation and rainwater capture through to heat pumps and solar panels we have the products and the knowledge that can help to make a significant contribution to a more sustainable future”.

Kevin Lapworth continues;

“The reception that we have had is very encouraging and customers have shown interest in just about everything we stock which confirms that the decision to launch the ecowarehouse concept on The Isle of Wight was a good one. I am sure that the concept will be very well received throughout the UK as the company develops the concept”

In addition to the ecowarehouse facility on the Isle of Wight, SIG have already unveiled the concept at 5 other locations in the UK;

  • Omnico, Chatham, Eastleigh & Great Yarmouth
  • Scotplas, Harbour Road, Inverness
  • Roplas, Carlisle Street Business Park, Sheffield

  • Toogood Plastics, Pritchetts Way, Rookley, Isle Of Wight
